Establishment
St. Francis De Sales' School (SFS SCHOOL), Medipally, Hyderabad was established on 5th June 2004 by the Missionaries Of St. Francis de Sales (MSFS/Fransalians).
The congregation of Missionaries Of St. Francis De Sales has 180 years of history of being in the field of education and has its presence in 35 countries imparting Quality Education.
The MSFS/Fransalians run more than 150 Educational Institutions throughout India. Here in Hyderabad (Medipally) the Fransalians (MSFS) started SFS SCHOOL in June 2004 with SSC Syllabus.
Our Beloved Founder
Rev Fr. Peter Mermier was born on 28th August 1790 at Savoy in France. He was ordained a priest on 21st March 1813 at the age of twenty-two.
He worked as a teacher at Melan where he formulated his own philosophy of education. He founded the congregation of Sisters of the Cross of Chavanod for the education of poor peasant girls.
Fr. Mermier firmly believed that "education is a work of love" and that it is incomplete without religious formation. He expected from the pupils three things: knowledge, wisdom and discipline.
"True education is opening the heart rather than mind."
Leaving behind a heritage of dazzling holiness, heroic courage and faith, Fr. Mermier breathed his last on 30th September 1862.
Our Heavenly Patron
St. Francis De Sales was born in an aristocratic family on 21st August 1567 at Savoy in France. He took a doctorate in civil and canon law from the University of Padua in Italy.
He was ordained a priest in December 1593 and was made the Bishop of Geneva in 1602. Francis De Sales, known as the "Gentleman Saint", was an able pastor and Teacher.
He became one of the greatest spiritual directors through his world famous writings: "The Introduction to Devout Life", "The Treatise on the love of God" and "The Spiritual Conferences".
He died in Lyon on 28th December 1622 at the age of 55. Pope Alexander the VII canonized him in 1661 and he was declared "Doctor of the church" in 1877.
