At SFS High School, Medipally, we believe that discipline is the foundation of success. All students are expected to follow these rules and regulations to maintain a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment.
General Discipline & Code of Conduct
- Students shall come to school on time and be neatly dressed in clean and complete school uniform.
- All students are to always wear the identity card during school hours.
- No student shall leave the classroom without permission.
- While changing for language classes and PET, students must walk silently and in single line.
- Girl students shall not wear any jewellery, have long nails or apply nail polish/kajal/mehendi. Boy students must have a proper hair cut at all times. Long hair and long nails are not permitted.
- No other than text books or library books, magazines, comics, paper or music cassettes may be brought to school.
- Students should speak only in English in the school premises to acquire good command of the language.
- No monetary collection for any purpose may be made without previous permission of the Principal.
- Care must be taken of all school property. No student shall scratch or spoil desks, chairs, or damage any school furniture.
- Running and shouting in the school building is not allowed.
- Students are not permitted to buy eatables from vendors outside the school grounds.
- No student is permitted to bring a Scooter, motorcycle or car to the school.
Guidelines for Parents & Guardians
- Carry out responsibilities as educators in instilling respect and obedience for school rules.
- Go through school diary regularly and sign teacher's remarks.
- Attend PTI regularly to discuss performance and progress of the child.
- Check that child carries books/notebooks according to time table.
- Children should do homework by themselves unless guidance is required.
- Motivate and support your child, establish a proper study area.
- Encourage reading good books or playing games instead of viewing TV.
- Parents are not permitted to meet teachers during school hours without prior permission.
- Ensure child brings no objectionable books, magazines, pictures or other material.
- Refrain from sending lunch boxes/notebooks during school hours.
- Inform school if there is any change in address or phone numbers.
Regularity & Attendance
- 75% attendance is compulsory for promotion.
- Parents must ensure wards join school on notified date at beginning of term.
- Absenteeism for five consecutive working days calls for intimation to school office.
- Attendance is compulsory on the first and last working day of every term.
- In case of illness or emergency, parent must inform school and bring a note in Almanac.
- Children will be awarded certificate for 100% attendance at end of academic year.
- It is the responsibility of student and parent to make up all work missed when absent.
Safety & Security
- Parents to carry school ID card when visiting school on working days and PTI.
- Parents not to collect wards during school hours. In emergency, parent or authorized person with photo in Almanac should come.
- No sharp objects namely blade, knife, scissors, needle should be sent to school.
- Posting of derogatory remarks & obscene pictures on social media will invite severe disciplinary action.
- Electronic gadgets are not permitted inside school premises. If found, will be confiscated for 6 months.
- Possession and consumption of alcohol, cigarette, tobacco products strictly prohibited and will invite expulsion.
Disciplinary Actions
- School reserves right to dismiss student who is irregular in attendance or whose progress is unsatisfactory.
- Grave insubordination, discourtesy to teachers, contempt of authority, willful damage to property or physical violence will result in dismissal.
- Student who uses unfair means during tests will be given zero in the subject. Repetition results in dismissal.
- Student who fails twice in same class or is over age by 2 years will not be permitted to continue.
- In case of misdemeanours, a warning letter will be issued. If a child gets three warning letters, he/she is liable to be given a TC.
Punctuality & Attendance
- Students are expected to attend class on time. Late coming is extremely disruptive.
- If a child is late more than three times in the year, he/she will be sent home and marked absent.
- Gates will close at 8:30 AM. It is equally important for children to be picked up from school on time.
- No child shall leave school premises during school hours without permission of Principal/Coordinator.
Environmental Concern
- SFS is a poly bag free zone. Parents not to send or bring any article in poly bag.
- No plastic water bottles permitted. Provide metal water bottles to wards.
- Use of Plastic is banned in the School including plastic use and throw bottles.
- Only Fruits and Homemade Snacks will be permitted. No junk food.
Important Note
Students who fail to comply with the rules and regulations may face disciplinary action including:
- Warning Letter: Issued for minor misdemeanours
- Detention: For serious violations or repeated offences
- Suspension: For grave misconduct
- Expulsion/Rustication: For endangering others or illegal activities
